Job Description

The Data Collector will support the implementation of a school-based adolescent mental health project in 18 government schools across Dadri and Bisrakh blocks of Gautam Buddha

Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The position will involve field-based data collection, interaction with adolescents and school stakeholders, accurate documentation, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct field-based data collection and assessments among eligible school-going adolescents in the 18 selected schools as per the study protocol and standard operating procedures.
2. Explain the purpose and procedures of the assessment to participants.
3. Administer study questionnaires and accurately measure height, weight and blood pressure.
4. Maintain complete records of data collection, participant assessments, forms, and other project-related documentation.
5. Review completed forms and questionnaires for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission.
6. Undertake daily data entry into the project MIS and ensure timely and accurate entry of collected data.
7. Participate in field team meetings, trainings, orientation sessions, and quality-assurance activities as required
8. Any other responsibilities assigned by the project in charge.

Educational Qualifications

At least graduation degree or above in Social Sciences/ Public Health/ Development Studies from a recognized University.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency to read/write/speak in Hindi. Knowledge of local dialects will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in computer operation (MS office, emails) and smart phone-based MIS application.
• Experience in public health data collection, preferably with adolescents.

• Readiness to work and travel in the study area.
• Interest in working with adolescents in schools.
• Ability to handle challenges and work in a team to resolve issues.
